Usually, I pick a picture so that I can put a funny caption underneath it; this time around it was picture first, caption second.
Of course, HorrorWeb wants to wish a Happy Birthday to the Prince Of Darkness and I personally wanted to it with a picture of Ozzy with a bit of menace about him. I have been a Black Sabbath fan since before I was old enough to listen to Black Sabbath. I was gifted the Paranoid album by a cousin at a very young age, possibly before I was ten. It was perfect. It conjured up this amazing evil fantasy world and I was sold on it. I would go so far as to say that it started my tasted in darker fantasy acts like Blue Oyster Cult, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, Bloody Hammers, and others.
So why 90's Ozzy? There was a short window in the 1990's where things took a slight turn from evil fantasy to absolute menace. The 1990's gave us an Ozzy that might really cut your throat or sell your mom to the devil. It was a blink before Ozzy let on it was all inspired by comic book portrayals of evil, but it was awesome to have this leaner, meaner Ozzy Osbourne.
I'm still a big Ozzy fan as goofy as he can sometimes be these days. Any time he's nice or fun I try to pretend that THAT'S when the drugs are taking effect and that the man or menace, the Prince Of Darkness is hiding, waiting for the perfect moment to come out.
Happy Birthday, Ozzy. 71 years old today, but always eternal.
