The 2019 remake of Pet Sematary Drops in April and it looks to be a slightly new take on the Stephen King story. For those of you who are oblivious, Pet Sematary is the story of a place where you can bury dead things, and it brings them back to life. As you can imagine, when they come back, they kind of aren't really the things you've buried in the first place.
I find it very interesting that they chose to remake this story. While the original is a tiny bit short of what I'd consider a classic, it's still iconic enough that it's going to be tough to match (The original had Fred Gywnne/Herman Munster and the Ramones on the soundtrack for gosh sakes).
I do find the kids in the animal masks to be very creepy. I don't know what purpose they serve in the story, but their little funeral procession is a new bit of welcome weirdness. All complaints and observations aside, I think it's a certainty that my butt will be in the theater when the movie drops.
