The next chapter in the Saw series appears to be more inspired by Saw than a continuation. This movie is the brainchild of the one and only Chris Rock. It also stars Rock. Now, I understand it can be tough to take Rock as a serious actor, but he did a bang-up job in the last season of Fargo.
The other thing we can gather from the trailer is it looks like Billy The Puppet on the tricycle is gone and he's being replaced with a pig marionette (then again, the killer in this movie appears to target police, so it may be just a temporary thing). The trailer also shows the return of the pig head abductor(s) that made their way into the Saw series (even though I can't tell if they're rockin' those cool dreads).
Along with Rock, you'll get what looks to be a healthy dose of Samuel L. Jackson, who will at least be an attempted victim of the Spiral killer.
The trailer actually gives off a Saw meets Seven vibes and I don't think that's a bad thing. Look for the movie on May 14th in theaters.
