Spooky Recipes for Halloween Lovers

GRAVE YARD TRUFFLES!

Ingredients

- 1 package of Oreo cookies

- 8 oz brick of cream cheese, room temperature

- Almond Bark or candy melts (I used almond bark)

- Optional sprinkles

- Mold to shape truffles

Method ::

- Wash your filthy hands

- Melt almond bark or candy melts and pour into mold, making sure to get an even layer all the way up the sides to make a shell. Stick in the freezer to chill.

- Using a blender or food processor, pulse Oreos into fine crumbs. If you’re feeling adventurous or frustrated you can put them in a ziplock bag and beat them with a rolling pin. It’s up to you.

- Transfer cookie powder into a bowl and add the brick of cream cheese.

- Mix cookies and cream cheese together, hands work best a spoon will get you nowhere.

- Once the mixture is evenly mixed, remove the mold from the freezer and press it into the formed shell.

- Put in the freezer to chill for 45 minutes.

- Remove from freezer

- Heat more candy melts or almond bark and pour it into the molds over the mixture. Make sure to tap the mold against a counter to get rid of any air bubbles.

- Put back in the freezer until hard.

- Carefully remove from molds.

Alternatively, you can put the cookie mixture into the mold, freeze it for an hour and then dip them into melted candy melts/almond bark.

If you want the truffles without the extra hassle, form the cookie mixture into balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet, freeze until hard and then dip into almond bark or candy melts and decorate with sprinkles.

ZOMBIE MINI MEATLOVES (Skull baking pan required!)

Ingredients

- 1 lb lean ground beef

- ½ cup chopped onions

- ¼ cup chopped red bell pepper

- 1 egg

- Breadcrumbs - I didn’t measure, just added as I needed for a binder

- Ketchup

- Salt

- Pepper

- Garlic powder

- Oregano

- Rosemary

- Thyme

Method

- Wash your filthy hands

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees

- Spray pan with nonstick cooking spray and place on a cookie sheet for stability

- Fine chop onion and bell pepper and place into a bowl

- Add the ground beef, egg and breadcrumbs

- Add a generous squirt of ketchup

- Add desired amounts of seasonings

- Mix with hands until combined. If the mixture seems too wet add more breadcrumbs

- Press meatloaf mixture into the pan tightly to ensure that it keeps shape. I used a spoon to really press it together.

- If desired, drizzle some more ketchup onto them and spread with a spoon.

- Bake for 45 minutes.

- Remove from oven, let sit for a minute before carefully removing the mini meatloaves from the pan.

- Leave as it or up the aesthetics by adding garnishes.
